Black and white portraits have always sparked my imagination – they seem to have so much more to look at and wonder about. I used two separate photos (one for the little boy, one for the dog) and brought them together in this nostalgic, evocative piece that captures one of those special moments in childhood.
It’s drawn on A4 size paper in charcoal.
I’m thinking of adding a woodland background at some stage. But I first wanted to show the piece without a background because when you compare them side-by-side, it’ll help you decide on your preferred background choice when you’re commissioning your portrait.
Please sign up to my newsletter (the form is on the front page) and I’ll let you know when the version with the background is ready.
